Asiana Elma is a Health Systems Research PhD student at the University of Toronto. She holds a BSc in Life Sciences and MSc in eHealth from McMaster University. With several years of experience managing qualitative and multi-methods research, she has contributed to studies examining the role of health and education policies, and practice and system-level organization, in supporting access to coordinated and integrated primary care services. Her doctoral research will explore how organizational pressures and contexts shape information-sharing practices using information communication technologies (ICTs) to enable care coordination across primary care and the broader health system. She has presented her work at national and international conferences and engaged with key provincial and national organizations, including Ontario Health, the Ministry of Health, and the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Asiana aims to bridge research and practice to inform policy and digital health strategies that drive effective, sustainable system-level change.
